10 new art shows in India we’re excited about this June

After taking place in Mumbai for several years, the Baro Market’s summer art fair goes to the capital for the first time. Including the works of art of more than 50 artists working in various media, the programming of this year’s summer showcase presents creations varying from gonding art and Mata Ni Pachedi To reserve sculptures and beyond, promising to make art accessible to all. The show also includes a special “collecting corner” which has affordable works for sale, giving art lovers a chance to explore and invest in canvases of eminent artists.

Many in the creative world know Sohrabji K Bhedwar as an anchitect Ace, co-founder of the Bhedwar & Bhedwar architectural cabinet, which has built, among other things, the emblematic Eros theater in Churchgate, as well as the union banking building in Fort and Queens runs opposite Oval Maidan. But few know that he was also a passionate collector of some of the best bronze sculptures in Nepal and miniature works of art. Chatterjee & Lal’s latest show for the first time after death, Bhedwar’s objects and works in his private collection that was built over a period of 30 years. Considered by some as the best private collection of metals in the country, Bhedwar’s sculptures are undoubtedly worth a dekko, especially for fans of sculpture and history of Indian art.
