VI: Give us some anecdotes from the whole. All the special moments you remember …

AJSK: There were a lot of thrills, nerves, hand outfit and a huge sense of community on the set. It was a moving experience. A particularly unforgettable moment was when Abu underwent a terrible knee injury during the shooting, so he could not walk on the ramp of the final as expected. We had to think about it and shoot in a creative way. Instead of a walk, we captured a shot from Zeenat and both standing on the ramp.

VI: What are the less known elements or details in this collection that viewers could miss at first glance?

AJSK: The layers of crafts. Subtle threads under the mirror panels with tone tone textures, there are hidden details that require a more in -depth appearance. Some silhouettes wear reinterpreted vintage cuts or ancient finishes, nod with the heritage which only turns out to be more in -depth inspection.

VI: Are there specific collections seen in the show?

AJSK: We used almost all the techniques of our collections spent in the show. Of various forms of Zardozi, Badla, Aari and Khicha with white on white chanderis decorated with oversized Gota and rich crystal embroidery, each machine was given its place in these magnificent costumes. The show serves as a few pieces inspired by the vast living archives of the crafts of Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla over the decades.

VI: were there silhouettes or techniques in the conceptions shown that prompted you in a creative way in new directions?

AJSK: Our work always pushes borders and breaks the limits. The Royals is no exception. We have mixed and reinvented our signature embroidery to create a whole new expression. The royal houses that inspired us were eclectic and experimental in their fashion choices. We reflected this spirit and we allowed the freedom to reinvent. It was a liberating experience and in a creative way.
