Electronics Manufacturing Ecosystem created 25 million jobs in 10 years: Ashwini Vaishnav

Union Railway and Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that India’s electronics manufacturing industry has crossed the mark of Rs 11 lakh crore and registered a five -fold increase in the last 10 years. Also, this entire ecosystem was able to produce 25 lakh jobs. Inaugurating the SMT (Surface Mount Technology) line of VVDN Technologies in Manesar, Haryana, the Union Minister said that in the last decade, electronics exports have increased by six times to more than Rs 3.25 lakh crore. This will help VVDN to manufacture large and complex products such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) server, networking equipment and motherboard, which will also help reduce imports on imports and strengthen India’s supply chain.
The Union Minister said that Indian products in global markets get the benefit of maintaining their credibility. These products are getting recognition globally. He further said that electronics components worth Rs 22,919 crore recently approved will be important in improving PLI Electronics Manufacturing Ecosystem.
The opening ceremony proved to be a major milestone for the “Design and Make in India” and “Self-reliant India” initiatives, which shows India’s growing strength of domestic abilities in electronics product engineering and high-volume manufacturing. The newly revered SMT line is the largest line of VVDN, which supports PCB size up to 850 mm x 560 mm and has a high-speed capacity of 2,50,000 cpH (earning at components). The Union Minister also visited VVDN’s R&D Labs (Server R&D lab, 5G R&D lab and video image tuning lab) during his visit. He also saw India’s AI server ‘Adipoli’ in VVDN Technologies.
