IPL 2025: Harsha Bhogle was banned for commentary in Eden Gardens? Commentator breaks silence when he disappeared from Kolkata match

Harsha Bhogle Banned for Commentary at Eden Gardens?: Famous commentator Harsha Bhogle has rejected speculation that he was kept away from the IPL match played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans on Monday due to the complaint of Bengal Cricket Association (CAB). He said that he was included in the panel for only two matches in Kolkata, which is over.
Bhogle posted on X, “Some unfair conclusions are being made about why I was not in Kolkata for yesterday’s match. Simply put, it was not in the list of matches in which I had to comment.”
He said, “The problem would be resolved by asking me. The roster is prepared before the tournament started. I was selected for two matches in Kolkata. I was there for the first match and could not reach for the second match due to the family member’s illness.”

Bengal Cricket Association expressed objection
Bhogle and the mums got caught in a dispute when the former New Zealand cricketer said that if the curator is not paying attention to the team’s request for the spinners, KKR should transfer his franchise while Bhogle said that the team should get domestic benefits. This happened during a panel discussion on a website after KKR losing two of their first three domestic matches.
Subsequently, the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB) warned both cricket experts and requested the BCCI that they should not be entrusted with the responsibility of commentary for the domestic matches of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
Angered by his comments, CAB Secretary Naresh Ojha wrote a letter to the BCCI about 10 days ago requesting the removal of Bhogle and Duol from the commentary panel of their domestic matches. Interestingly, neither bhogale nor duol commentary were on commentary during the match played between KKR and Gujarat Titans on Monday.
A CAB official told PTI, “Bhogle and Dools are no longer part of the IPL commentary team for KKR’s domestic matches. However, the situation may change if the qualifier in the Eden Gardens on May 23 and 25 and the final can change.”
