Dhoom of ‘Made-in-India’ cars around the world, demand for these models more demand

India is one of the largest car markets in the world. The world’s top car brands manufacture cars in the country and sell it all over the world. There are many vehicles made in India, which are low in demand in India, but they are being sold indiscriminately globally. These models include Honda’s city and elevate, Nissan’s Magnite, Hyundai’s Varna and Jeep’s Meridian.
Many of these trains were mainly designed for Indian markets, but now the demand for these vehicles has increased in international markets.
Honda elevate’s huge demand in the market like Japan
A great example of this is Honda Eleivate, which was launched by the company with great expectations to get a stake in India’s growing SUV market in September 2023, but the sales of this vehicle in the domestic market were low. For this reason, Honda started exporting elevate made in India to a market like Japan, where it is sold in the name of WR-V.
Honda exports 45,167 units of elevate
In FY 2025, Honda sold 22,321 units of elevate to India, but exported 45,167 units, compared to domestic sales last year was 33,642 units and exports at 10,273 units. In FY 2025, the production of elevate increased by 54 percent to 67,488 units.
Export of over 50,000 units of Hyundai Varna in FY 2025
A similar trend is being seen about Hyundai Varna. This sedan was launched by the company in India in 2023 with a new avatar, but due to the increasing trend of SUV, the domestic sales of the car did not as expected. Hyundai started exporting this car from India to use its production capacity.
Hyundai Varna got good success in markets like Middle East, Africa and Latin America, exporting more than 50,000 units in FY 2025.
Export of 29,155 units of Nissan Magnite SUV
Magnite SUV was launched by Nissan in 2020. Its 30,146 units were sold in India in FY 24, while 9,314 units were exported. At the same time, 27,881 units have been sold in the domestic market in FY 25 and 29,155 units have been exported.
American car company Jeep has also followed this trend. Meridian has also been exported to international markets, while domestic sales have been low.
