IPL 2025: Gujarat, Bengaluru and Punjab get playoff tickets, race between three teams for one place, know full equation
Till the 59th match of IPL 2025, no team had received a playoff ticket, but as soon as Delhi Capitals suffered defeat in the 60th match of the league, three teams qualified for the playoffs simultaneously. Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings have benefited from Gujarat Titans victory. Mumbai Indians have 14 points. While Delhi has 13 points in 12 matches. While Lucknow has 10 points and its three matches are left. In such a situation, any of the same team from Mumbai and Delhi can score 17 points (18 points in the case of Mumbai Indians). In such a situation, these three teams got the playoff ticket.

If Mumbai Indians wins both their remaining matches, then they will have 18 points and in such a situation the Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants will be out of the playoff race. But if Mumbai defeated Delhi, but lost to Punjab, then even in such a situation it will remain in the playoff race, provided his net run rate is better than Lucknow.
Delhi Capitals will have to win both the remaining matches to reach the playoffs from here. If he loses in a single match, he will have a maximum of 15 points. In such a situation, Delhi will have the support of luck for playoffs.
If Lucknow wins all the remaining matches, it can reach a maximum of 16 points from it. In such a situation, he will not get a playoff ticket.
