From granny clogs, fashion moves to grandpa shoes
These days, it’s rare for a fashion trend –grandfather Be the last – to enter the dominant current without a buzzing name adapted to the Internet. Some can be ambiguous, with little suggestion of what is described, but others – like “grandmother” shoes – are quite explicit. For reference: “Granny Shoes”, in 2025, fashion speech, relates to comfortable shoes (read: orthopedic). Scholl sandals are a poster product for the trend. In the same vein, “grandfather” shoes are upwards, but, much like grandmother’s shoes, deduce what a grandfather shoe East (and not) is entirely subjective.
If we are talking about stereotypes, the term can include styles such as moccasins, boat shoes, derbies, brights, coaches to put on, trekking sandals and, well, everything that looks like a slipper. The suede mellows of Saint Laurent, the slippers of the intricciato of Bottega Veneta and the vanded boat shoes of Gianvito Rossi are good examples. Details like practical soles, easy laces – and, of course, Velcro – are a bonus.

Not only is it the shoe itself-sometimes the “grandfather” aspect depends on the style. Harry Styles wore a pair of row moccasins in April, for an outing in London, which seemed appropriate with a white sock and custom gray pants. Cut into the upper half, and the glazed matcha latte, wired headphones, tote bags and shield glasses kept it firmly in millennium territory, but, overall, the look mentioned a certain old-fashioned charm.
Jonathan Anderson – That of the complaint of the division shoe – has long considered humble but directional shoes a signature, and the one he defended, both during his mandate in Loewe and on his eponymous label. Clues of this aesthetic also imbued the first collection of Anderson for Dior Men, with fishermen’s sandals, slippers and retro sneakers – essentially, the kind of shoes that would not be in the cupboard of an elderly gentleman – making appearances on the track. His recent change of brand for JW Anderson, Resort 2026, once again visited these tropes, to shoes – patchworks patch -ons and hairy moccasins, among them – which, in its redesigned stores, will be displayed alongside the comforts of organized creatures like tea tea towels, blankets, food covers.
Before his departure, Matthieu Blazy looked at a mood similar to Bottega Veneta, and his last outing, Resort 2025, explored the ingredients of elegance. Grandpa shoes taking? Shiny moccasins as polite as a museum floor and boots that have received an old -fashioned turn via a high -headed and sandy chinos, a nestled striped shirt, a jazzy tie and a leather jacket (a woven on this subject). Likewise, look 34 in Miu Miu Fall / Winter 2025 – A set of separate layer tracks and leather apartments – mentioned the same effect.
