This bride wore three Manish Malhotra looks for her Mexican fiesta-inspired wedding

To make the most of Cabo’s sunny coastline and mild weather, most events were held outdoors. For example, the welcome party ended with a beach rave under the starry sky, the haldi ceremony was a light affair with a flash mob dance and guests cooled off with prosecco ice creams; the sangeet featured a fire show, while the wedding was a seaside celebration with a fiery ocean sunset for company.

Moving away from the traditional yellow hues associated with the haldi ceremony, the couple chose to wear all-white ensembles. The bride opted for a custom ivory Ridhi Mehra outfit while the groom topped it off with a Label Crestelli kurta in a similar shade. “I worked closely with Bridelan India, a Mumbai-based wedding styling company, to source and customize outfits for each celebration,” shares the bride. The Sangeet party was a vibrant spectacle, drawing inspiration from the couple’s love of Yayoi Kusama’s iconic installations in New York, with decor in shades of icy blue and silver. Madalli chose a Manish Malhotra lehenga embellished with teal and silver that leaned towards the bride’s love of modern sensibilities.

A playful updo for her hair and natural glamor completed her look for the evening. Guests enjoyed street food with live food stations offering taco dosa, chaat, biryani, kebabs and Mexican-style tapas, accompanied by passion fruit margaritas and espresso martinis. There was also a sea salt station where customers could bottle their own gourmet salts.

As the wedding day dawned, the seaside venue came alive with a palette of opulent pastels. “I had seen so many traditional mandaps but nothing had struck me. I wanted this moment to be grand but not take away from the beauty of the sparkling sea and the sunset behind us,” shares Madalli. As guests started flocking in for the traditional Telugu wedding ceremony, the bride walked down the aisle in a pastel pink Manish Malhotra lehenga. “I wanted to keep the traditional Indian lehenga shape, but decided to add an exaggerated train, similar to an American wedding dress.”

She kept her makeup minimal and fresh with a classic low bun, teamed with a Russian emerald choker with matching bangles, maang tikka and maatha patti. Her boyfriend contrasted with an ivory Sabyasachi sherwani. Before all that, however, guests were treated to an interesting sight of Reddy arriving at his baraat with two camels in tow. “My dad planned this surprise by coordinating with the local zoo in Cabo with these camels dressed in traditional Mexican desert ponchos,” she shares with a laugh.

The sunset phenomena was followed by a Great Gatsby-themed wedding reception. Here, the couple upped the glamor with the bride opting for a custom, glitzy Manish Malhotra lehenga with tasseled sleeves and a feather dupatta, teamed with crystal-embellished Amina Muaddi heels. The monochrome look made a statement, in line with her dream of dressing in the quintessential Bollywood outfit. “Choosing Manish Malhotra as my wedding dress designer was like a dream come true. I was able to really express my East meets West style in this reception outfit,” shares Maddali. Reddy opted for a suave look with a classic black tuxedo by Giorgio Armani. The celebrations concluded with fireworks and a jungle disco-themed after-party as the couple and their guests danced the night away for a fitting finale to their Mexican fiesta-inspired wedding.
