Due to lack of better food and health awareness, a large number of malnourished children are still born, who fall prey to serious diseases due to lack of proper treatment and care. In the 8 districts of Rajasthan i.e. Barmer, Bara, Pali, Dungarpur, Dausa, Pratapgarh, Tonk and Dholpur, there will be a unique confluence of technology and Mamta in Kangaroo Mother Care Program for newborn malnourished children.
With this new initiative, not only will the health of the newborn improve but mothers will also be made aware of the care of the child. Under this initiative, a watch will be tied in the hands of the newborn. The alarm system of the clock will be turned on when the temperature is low. As soon as the alarm rings, the mother, father or any member of the family will stick the child like a kangaroo from his open chest so that he can get natural warmth and energy. This method will help in keeping the child temperature controlled.
According to Dr. Harish Chauhan, a pediatrician of Barmer District Hospital and Head of Department Dr. Harish Chauhan, when the temperature of the newborn falls, his body tries to stabilize it by spending energy, which stops nutrition and can increase diseases. Children whose weight will be less than two and a half kilos at birth will be taken under this scheme under this scheme. He informed that this scheme has been implemented in Barmer, Bara, Pali, Dungarpur, Dausa, Pratapgarh, Tonk and Dholpur districts. Kangaroo mother care can remove this problem at home, which will also reduce deaths.
