Nimrat Kaur in a chintz-inspired sari is a love letter to India’s floral textile heritage

The sari of Nimrat Kaur, the muslin muslin and the organza in layers, catching the air in soft ruffles as it crossed the room. The inspired impression of Ridhi Mehra Chintz lent the ivory base an old centuries story, while a blouse and transparent sleeves garnished with pearls brought it firmly in the present.

The barely hand -raw silk bodice was bordered with ornate gold lace, its metal wire kept minimal to let the flowers direct. The transparent georgette sleeves adorned the structure, while the pre-dried folds of the flying edges of Sari drew along the hem. The Pallu fell into a loose waterfall on the back, and the lower half followed a siren -style drape which broke out the hips before vanishing in front of the knees. The interaction of pure and opaque, structured and fluid, reflected the dichotomy of the look itself: a traditional outfit with a contemporary silhouette.
The ivory base transported delicate flowers printed in the style of Chintz, a printed cotton textile which emerged in India centuries ago, celebrated for its complex botanical patterns on pale terrains. Hand -woven and printed by blocks by craftsmen, Chintz has traveled continents, coveted in Europe for its lively dyes and fine armor. Even commercial prohibitions and foreign imitations could not blunt its appeal; A testament not only to its beauty, but to the durable cultural attraction of flowers in Indian textile design.
Nimrat Kaur wore jewelry, Shri Paramani jewelry, including emerald earrings fixed with graduating stones surrounded by diamonds and rings with several daring stones worn in both hands. The hair was separated on the side by loose waves, with hot tonal makeup – lids, cheeks and lips – for a soft and coherent finish.
