Sreeleela’s multi-hued lehenga is layered with zardozi and tikki handwork

Lehenga belongs to the latest “Banno” collection in Maniar, a line that is based on fabrics as much as embroidery. “When we consider this Lehenga, the intention was to create something that breathes both grandeur and delicacy,” shares Maniar. “The fabric was the starting point. We used the Tassar organ for Lehenga and the tissues for the Dupatta. Each of these textiles has a fragile lightness, while holding a royal presence,” added the designer.

The Lehenga was cut by Kalis alternating jewelry tones, each embroidered with floral and architectural patterns that played against each other in harmony. “Each reason has been worked by hand using the work Tikki, Zardozi, Katdana and Poth,” explains Maniar about crafts. “The idea was always to balance refinement with the celebration.”

The accessories have amplified the richness of Lehenga without submerging it. A Kundan neck has framed its neckline, twinned with jhumkas, Kaan Phool and a delicate Maang Tikka. Her hair was braided and tied with a red parandi, while her makeup remained soft and bright, keeping the accent on the whole.
