Here are 8 shapewear brands that Vogue tested, so you don’t have to

It’s funny how a piece of extensible fabric can contain so much power in your wardrobe after a certain age. Shapewear is strange. You know you shouldn’t have to wear it if you like yourself – like makeup for the gymnasium – and yet, in a way, it is found in your basket the day before a big event.
Personally, I like a little support (especially the spandex type), and the internet was on fire with emissions of all types that promises to tighten and reduce the thumbs of your body. Thus, in the name of fashion, vanity and sweet masochism, I decided to try a whole range – from decorative surgery – and I have some thoughts.
Victoria’s Secret
When I picked up the Victoria body, it reminded me of something that I would have worn with inexplicable confidence at the age of 10, with sparkling leggings and a tiara, nothing less. I was almost sure not to settle there (my niece could), even if the size of the label corresponded to mine. But to my absolute surprise, He adaptedAnd it was soft, stretchy and strangely soothing. Not as heavy on the compression as I would have imagined (you should not judge Shapewear by its cover) but nevertheless effective. Their short high -waisted pants smoothed without crushing and remained in place, mainly thanks to the silicone handle, which really works. Honestly, these pieces were quite comfortable to wear throughout the day.
Wacoal
The Wacoal shapewear was firm, concentrated and quite thick. He holds. He compresses. It does not move or the strikes, which is quite rare in Shapewear with this type of silhouette. This is the kind of thing you wear when you don’t want to think about your thighs that touch – or breathe. That said, he does what he promises.
Uniqlo
I had doubts if the Uniqlo Aryism Shapewear was actually Shapewear, because it looked more like the hosiery that was lost in the cycling shorts section. The whole range was thin, semi-transparent and felt more like a base layer than the real shape, which is exactly what it is best: light smoothing and without difficult lines. There is no strong compression here, so if you are trying to make your fast friend dress your fast friend, it may not be that one. But for daily outfits that need a little sweet help around the median section or thigh, these are your pairs.
Feier
I started my quest to find Shapewear and the targeted announcements of Instagram took it from there: ask and the algorithm must provide. This is how I came across Feier – they are above all a brand of fitness, but I am from time to time in the body and the shapers. Since the compression here is light, more “subtle smoothing” than the complete vacuum seal, these can be a daily companion.
Invogue
The Invogue Shapewear really took me by surprise. After seeing a few announcements on Instagram, it was a bit of a fragile bet. But you know that the fantasy full of hope of being as thin as it is three years ago – before all that Zomato had consequences? Well, the invogue bodysuits in fact take you there, up to descriptors as “high compression” and “intense torn” perfectly. They are also one of the rare brands to offer a Topwear Tube Type -Type -type version. The cynical in me was doubtful, because everything that is labeled without suspenders and tube is generally not my friend, but I was held firmly while the thumbs disappeared.
Marks & Spencer
M & S Shapewear is like this reliable old friend. It won’t make you feel madly transformed, but it will do exactly what you need – and comfortably. I have owned some of his parts over the years and they are still in good shape, which is a real testimony to their quality. Despite the many wear, its shapewear has adapted in a transparent way while my body has changed.
Nykd by Nykaa
NYKD parts include a good 50%spandex, which really helps soft sculpture. The brand’s range is obtained: their bodysuits, their size and thigh shapes and their compression memories are definitively somethingAs you feel supported without feeling as if your organs are given. Some styles even come with boning at the waist, which seems intense, but has the impression that someone helps you support you more straight – unfortunately not as pleasant when you are seated.
Spanx
OG. When I bought Spanx for the first time, I did not wear it as much as going up in it. It contains everything exactly where it should be, which is comforting and alarming equal parts. You will look smooth, but you will certainly know that you wear it.
