No compensation of the Supreme Court in Kangana Ranaut, petition to cancel the defamation case

The actress and the deputy of the Bharatiya Janata party, Kangana Ranaut, withdrew her request from the Supreme Court, in which she demanded the cancellation of a criminal defamation complaint against her for a retweet of 2020-2021 farmers against agricultural laws of the center.The case came to hear before the bench of judge Vikram Nath and judge Sandeep Mehta. After the bench has shown a reluctance to consider the petition, Kangana’s lawyer withdrew him.

Kangana, who came to politics after the theater, challenged the defamation complaint, which was now based on his Retweet which now included his own remarks on a demonstrator during the 2020-2010 farmers’ demonstrations against the canceled agricultural laws. The complainant Mahinder Kaur (73), from the village Jandian de Bahadurgarh, in the Bathinda district, filed a complaint in Bathinda in January 2021.

Her complaint before a court in Bathinda said that the actress had made “false allegations and comments” in a retweet that she was the same “grandmother” who was involved in the demonstrations in Shaheen Bagh. Kangana’s lawyer argued before the High Court of Punjab and Haryana that the aspect order of the Bathinda court is not eligible due to a violation of the code of criminal procedure.
