Designers embellish denim to make it fun again, and fashion loves it
If 2025 has proven something, it is because denim at one point. More recently, Gucci’s Resort 2025 sent a crystal gathered jeans on the track, while Pharrell, for Louis Vuitton Men’s Fall / Winter 2024, presented a blue fence denim in his collection on the theme of cowboys. And of course, the kia gerber kiaa gang jeans for Valentino Haute Couture Fall / winter 2023 – with a million glass beads and pearls sewn in silk gas – establish a new bar for what the `jeans ” could be and mean, scraping the border between denim and seam.

However, denim has always been a lasting vehicle of self -expression, and whether paint splashes, tears or something more snazz, jeans make the ideal canvas. For a while, the jeans have slipped into the background, becoming the reliable base that you throw to tone things rather than turning the heads. They were the uniform on leave – an occasional base for occasional events. But with an embellished denim recovering under the spotlight, the script has returned: no longer only the dress filling, these sumptuous jeans are now a fair game for everything, from brunches to large evenings.
