Nina Dobrev and Sean White’s 5-year-old relationship is over, and engagement is broken
Olympic snowboarder Sean White and actress Nina Dobrev have stunned fans after breaking their engagement. The couple began dating in 2019 and engaged in October 2024, reportedly confirmed their separation after staying together for five years. Citing the source given to Peepal Magazine, “It was a mutual decision and it wasn’t easy, but it was taken with love and deep respect for each other.”

Dobrev and White began dating in 2019 and soon became one of Hollywood’s favorite couples. The two began living together just before the Covid-19 outbreak and officially confirmed their romance on Instagram in 2020. Due to his chemistry and continued appearance on social media, he received the title of “couple goals.”

A source close to the actress in “The Vampire Diary” told Peepal: Representatives of White and Dobrev did not comment on the alleged news of their separation. The last photo of the two was taken in Los Angeles on August 31, 2025, and they handled each other’s hands.
On September 7, 2025, Dobrev gave up speculation when he ran without five carat diamond engagement rings on the red carpet of Eytern’s premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival. White recalled the meeting in an interview with Peepal in 2022, saying, “I really knew everything about Dobrev.” The three-time Olympic gold medalist admitted that when several staff members requested to take a photo with him, he found it very interesting. He added, “And I was thinking, ‘What’s going on? What’s going on?” It was really interesting. ”
The couple began dating in 2019 and began living together at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. White announced his relationship on Instagram in May 2020. In a series of photos he shared, Dobrev gave him a haircut in isolation.

In October 2024, White proposed Dobrev, surprising him at a dinner party at Golden Swan in New York City. He offered Dobrev a 5-carat Lauren Schwartz diamond ring after suggesting he go to the CFDA/vogue program hosted by Anna Wintle.
After the suggestion, the couple shared photos of that special evening on Instagram. His post was captioned with a white “He said yes (sic).” In his post, Dobrev wrote, “ripping boyfriend, Hello Fiancé (sic).”
Dobrev also worked in actor Vin Diesel’s action thriller, XXX The Return of Gender Cage.
