First Look: A Maison Margiela and Christian Louboutin collaboration is here inspired by one magical collection

That is to say until one day I had lunch with John and Alexis [Roche, his partner]And he said, unexpectedly: “Would you consider doing something with me?” And immediately, I said “Yes of course!” John was very, very happy. And suddenly, he was a shower of ideas. It was an important step in its history because it was so much, therefore, in it. He was drowned by this, and so excited and so precise, and so full of his creative energy. “Galliano” shoes always believed but he has never done them “, as Louboutin explains, then he assembled key characters who brought their skills to the medium,” and I am very happy and proud to be ‘One of them, ”adds Louboutin. “You know, it’s funny when you work. We worked almost a year in advance, and it was very complicated – because her clothes are incredibly complicated to do because of the false ass [the false bottom] and so on. Everything was at a sewing level that is almost never reached. »»

In the end, the show was a triumph; A swan swan for the extraordinary decade of John Galliano at Maison Margiela. “It was perfection,” explains Louboutin, “that evening, with the bruine under the bridge.” The show took place under the Pont Pont Alexandre III in Paris, where Galliano had mentioned a sort of bare thread from the 1930s. It was a brassai moment, with Pat McGrath Second extraordinary skin, shiny face masks.

“Even if I expected something that was going to be great, I was not necessarily ready to have such a vision of such an impactful show. This is something that you can expect very, very few designers, and you can expect this, ”explains Louboutin. “The level of emotion involved in the show, not only in the clothes, but in the show itself: it was a really magical moment. You know, it’s poetry and magic. Even talking about it makes me emotional! It took 40 years of John Galliano to make me cry during a show, ”recalls Louboutin. “… and shoes!”

So now, taking a deep inspiration after the show of the shows, Louboutin worked on a second collection for Maison Margiela, the silhouettes taken from the show. They described some stores: “So they will be sold in Margiela and they will be sold in Louboutin!” He exults. “Since I know John,” continues Louboutin, “he has a kind of passion for tribal clothes, [clothes] Plays, dance, kabuki. His brain is built in boiling around it anyway.
