Trot said in a press conference after winning against England, “Ever since I have become a coach, we have played against Australia three times and we have challenged in every match, so we should take a lot of confidence from it.”
He said, “I think what happened in the World Cup, T20 World Cup, I also tell the players that Afghanistan will never be taken lightly again.” Trat said, “I think whatever match we play will be competitive and whenever we get into the match, I will be expected to win.”
Afghanistan’s victory against established countries playing Test cricket is no longer seen as a reversal and recent performances on the world stage means that no team can risk taking them lightly. Trot said, “Australia is not going to take us lightly, so we have to be ready. In the past people may have seen the program and thought that this big test will be a little easier than playing against the country. But in this format, in these circumstances, I do not think so.”
Afghanistan is still in the semi -final race with two points in two matches. The victory against Australia will lead to four points of the team which will deliver it to the top two. Australia have three points in two matches after the match was canceled due to rain against South Africa. However, if Afghanistan loses to Australia, it will be out of the competition.
