Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan sought global help for democracy and regional stability

Former Jail -jailed Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has appealed to the international community, especially the US to confirm his commitment to democracy, human rights and regional stability. The newspaper ‘Don’ said that in an article published as Khan in ‘Time’ magazine, the leader congratulated US President Donald Trump for his “political return”.

He also hoped that the US would work with Pakistan to encourage economic partnership and stability and to prevent struggle and insurgency situations. It is not yet clear whether this article is actually written by Khan or not and how it was transported to the magazine.

Khan mentioned in an article of “political upheaval” in Pakistan and his fight for democracy. He expressed deep concern over the alleged erosion of democracy in the country and described the present time as one of the most challenging phase in the history of the country.

He emphasized that he was arrested against him under politically motivated steps and allegations were made against him to suppress his support for democratic principles. He claimed that his struggle is not personal but is associated with the widespread issue of democracy, which has far -reaching consequences not only for the country, but also for regional and global stability.

Seeing the strategic importance of Pakistan, Khan emphasized that the international community should understand the immediate need to deal with this crisis. He alleged that by removing resources from important anti-terrorism efforts, he is being used to take political vengeance against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
