Who is Badar Khan Suri? Know why America is expelling this Indian student from its country

Indian -origin postdorter Associate Badar Khan Suri has been arrested at Georgetown University in America. Now they are being sent back from America i.e. they are facing exile. Badar Khan Suri takes a class on the subject of “majority and minority rights in South Asia”. According to a statement by a Spokesperson of Georgetown University, Badar Khan Suri had “American visas” to continue his doctoral research on peace making in Iraq and Afghanistan.

According to the report of Politico, Badar Khan Suri was arrested by “masked agents” outside his house in Virginia on Monday night. He has been accused of “spreading the promotion of Hamas” and “close relationship with a known or suspected terrorist”.

Trisia McLoglin, Assistant Secretary, Homeland Security Department, wrote on X, “Suri was a foreign exchange student at Georgetown University who was actively promoting Hamas and promoting anti -Jewish spirit on social media.”

Who is Badar Khan Suri?

Dr. Badar Khan Suri, Edmund A. The Walsh School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, Washington, DC have a postdorter Fellow at the Alvalid bin Talal Center for Muslim-Christian understanding. He completed his PhD in 2020 in peace and struggle studies from Nelson Mandela Center for Peace and Conflict Resolution, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

He wrote “a study of state building” in Afghanistan and Iraq “a study of” transitional democracy, divided society and peace, in which he underlined the complications involved in starting democracy in diverse societies. Also, there are challenges to project state building in this book.

He is an interdisciplinary scholar. His wife is from Mafage Saleh, Gaza and is a first year student at the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies at Georgetown University. He is an American citizen.
