Mumbai Association awarded Vengsarkar and Diana Edulji with Life Time Achievement

Former Indian captain Dilip Vengsarkar and Diana Edulji were honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Thursday. Vengsarkar, a prominent member of the 1983 World Cup winning team, captained India in 10 Tests and 18 ODIs. He was also the Vice President of MCA and Chairman of BCCI’s selection committee. Adulji, who played international cricket for about 17 years, played a leading role in the establishment and spread of women’s cricket in India.

Former MCA Vice President Ratnakar Shetty and Praveen Barve were also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their remarkable contribution to cricket administration. Apart from these, Ajinkya Rahane, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sarfaraz Khan were honored for their brilliant performance.

Vengi was a very great record

Vengsarkar was one of the legendary cricketers of India. He scored 6868 runs in 116 Tests at an average of 42.13. It consisted of 17 centuries and 35 fifties. At the same time, he also played 129 ODIs for India. In this, he scored 3508 runs at an average of 34.73. Vengsarkar, who was once famous for sixes, could score the same century. However, he scored 23 fifties. But his record in first class cricket was very excellent. Dileep scored 17,868 runs in 260 matches at an average of 52.86. This includes 55 centuries and 87 fifties.

Diana Edulji inspires women

Former India captain Diana Edulji, running in her 70th year, was a great left-arrow spinner in her time. And he took 63 wickets in 20 Tests. His best performance took 6 wickets for 64 runs. At the same time, he took 63 wickets in 34 matches in ODIs.
