Shaukat Basra, a senior leader of Imran Khan’s party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, told PTI-Bhasha, “Nawaz Sharif was living a life of retirement after his party’s derogatory defeat in 2024 elections. Imran Khan was stolen and Nawaz and Zardari’s parties-PMLN and PPP were given to PPP. It would be better for Nawaz’s health to keep himself busy with some work like a retired leader. “
He said that Nawaz returned from London in 2023 to become Prime Minister for the fourth time, but the Pakistan Army chose his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif as a “right puppet” for this work. The elder Sharif is caressing his wounds. Shaukat Basra jokingly, “Now, Nawaz Sharif will be seen monitoring the old buildings in the boundary wall of Lahore.”
