Why the flight coming from London to Mumbai was stopped in Türkiye, 250 passengers have been waiting for 40 hours

More than 250 passengers have been stranded in Türkiye for more than 40 hours. Actually, these are the passengers who were traveling from London to Mumbai from Virgin Atlantic Flight. But before that he could reach Mumbai, his aircraft was launched at Diyarbakir Airport in Turkey. Passengers who have been waiting for their aircraft to fly again for the past 40 hours include many Indians. The airline spokesperson has issued a statement amid inconvenience to passengers. In which it is said that on April 2, the VS 358 flight from London to Mumbai was canceled due to immediate medical diversion at Diyarbakir Airport. After the landing, there was a technical problem in the aircraft and it is being investigated.

Passengers have been trapped at the airport for more than 40 hours

Virgin Atlantic spokesperson said, “The safety of our customers and crew members is our top priority, and we have honest apologies for inconvenience. After getting necessary technical approval, we will continue flight VS 1358 from Diyarbakir Airport to Mumbai on Friday, April 4 at 12:00 pm on Friday, April 4.”

The airline said, “If there is no approval, we are planning to transfer our customers by bus to another Turkish airport tomorrow. From there they will come to Mumbai from another plane … Meanwhile, passengers are being kept in a hotel overnight and given refreshments overnight in Turkey. We are working in the direction of a solution, and we will keep all the customers informed.”

The trapped passengers and their family members have exposed their problems on social media. Many people complained about the same toilet for more than 300 passengers waiting at the airport. A passenger told the news agency PTI that the passengers were not given a blanket despite a temperature of less than 10 degrees.

Responding to a question of NDTV on the current situation of passengers, a spokesman for the Virgin Atlantic replied that the customers have been held in hotels and the airline is working towards a solution. The Indian Embassy in Ankara has said that it is monitoring the situation.
