PM Modi honored Sri Lanka’s highest civilian honor

Sri Lanka:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been awarded Sri Lanka’s largest citizen honor. PM Modi has thanked Sri Lanka for this honor. Also said that this is not just his, but 140 crore Indians. PM Modi is on a 3 -day Sri Lanka tour. On the first day of PM Modi’s visit, many agreements have been made between India and Sri Lanka, including defense and infrastructure.
‘Sri Lanka is not only our neighbor but also a good friend’
On this occasion, PM Modi said, ‘India’s vision has been with everyone, everyone has developed. We prioritize allies. Sri Lanka is not only our neighbor but also a good friend. We stood firmly with him in the difficult times of Sri Lanka. Today it is a matter of pride for me to honor Sri Lanka Mitra Vibhushan by President Disanayake. This honor is not only my honor, but it is the honor of 140 crore Indians. It is an honor for historical relations and deep friendship between India and Sri Lanka. It is a matter of pride for India that we have discharged our duties as a true neighbor friend.
Sri Lanka special place in Vision ‘Ocean’
Referring to the strong relations between India and Sri Lanka, PM Modi said, ‘Whether it is the 2019 terrorist attack, Kovid epidemic, or the recent economic crisis, in every difficult situation, we have stood with the people of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka has a special place in both our neighbors and Vision Ocean (Vision ‘Mahasagar’). India has adopted the vision of ‘Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas’.
India’s cooperation to Sri Lanka …
We also give importance to the priorities of our partner countries. In the last 6 months, we have converted a loan of more than $ 100 million into a grant. There are centuries -old spiritual and intimacy relationship between India and Sri Lanka. I am very happy to say that things related to Lord Buddha found in Aravalli, Gujarat in 1960 are being sent to visit Sri Lanka. India will cooperate in the renovation of Thirukonewaram Temple in Tinkomali. We also discussed issues related to the livelihood of fishermen. We agree that we should proceed with a human approach in this case. We also emphasized on the release of fishermen immediately and sending their boats back. The relationship between India and Sri Lanka is based on mutual trust and goodwill.
