Let me tell you that Marshall was the first West Indies fast bowler to take 300 Test wickets. Former West Indies captain Sir Clive Lloyd had said about Marshall that, “Malcolm was a special cricketer, in fact I would have to say that he was an ‘additional cricketer’. He took wickets with three other great fast bowlers – so wickets were ‘shared’ in many ways, yet he set an amazing record as a bowler.” Malcolm Marriage made his Test debut against India in 1978, taking 1,651 wickets at a brilliant average of 19 runs per wicket in 408 first -class matches.
