‘Our occupation of Panama Canal …’ US Defense Secretary said- will withdraw it from China’s influence

Ever since Donald Trump has taken power in America for the second time, he is eyeing the Panama Canal (US on Panama Canal). He has already indicated that America will occupy the Panama Canal. In this direction, now he has also taken steps ahead. According to Reuters’ news, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth reiterated Trump’s talk after a visit to the Central American nation, saying that the US would take back the Panama Canal, which would end China’s influence on one of the most important waterways in the world.

US Defense Secretary met the President of Panama
Please tell that after decades, a US defense secretary reached Panama tour. Referring to the tour, Pete Hegseth said that he held a meeting with Panama President Jose Raul Mulino in a closed room. He looked at the canal closely. The US once again expressed deep concern over China’s investment and participation in and around the important waterways connecting the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
After a talks with the Panama government, the Pentagon Chief promised to deepen the security cooperation of the US Army with the Panama’s forces. He said that China will not be allowed to make the canal weapons using commercial relations of Chinese firms for espionage.
Vow to withdraw Panama Canal from China’s influence
The US Defense Secretary said in the city of Panama that Panama and America together will get the Panama Canal free from the influence of China. He said that the Panama will end China’s influence in the Panama Canal under the new system with Panama for the first time since 1999. China has not made this canal. Nor does China operate this canal. China will no longer be able to make this canal a weapon. The US will secure the canal together with Panama, which will be available to all countries.
America wants Panama Canal Back
The US Defense Secretary praised Paanma’s President Mulino and said that his government understands the danger from China. He talked about removing the sugar effect on the canal. While Trump has already said that he will not hesitate to seek the help of the army when needed. The Trump administration had sought options from the US Army to ensure the Panama Canal alleged before Hegseth’s visit to Panama. Please tell that America had built the Panama Canal before a century.
