A lion took a 14 -year -old girl in front of a friend near Nairobi National Park

Nairobi:
A shocking incident has come to light on the outskirts of Nairobi, the capital of Kenya. A 14 -year -old girl was killed by a lion here. According to CNN report, it is believed that the lion wandered from Nairobi National Park and entered a residential complex, where he carried out the attack.
According to Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), the girl was with her friend when the lion dragged her. His friend made a noise. On receiving the information, wildlife officers immediately reached the spot. Blood spots took the rangers to the Mabagathi river, where the body of the girl was recovered. There were serious injuries to the lower back.
Nairobi National Park, located just 10 km from the capital, has many animals including lions, cheetahs, leopards, wild buffaloes and giraffes. Although the park is surrounded by fence on three sides, its southern border is open to animals migration, sometimes wildlife comes to the nearby residential areas.
Although such incidents about lions have rarely come to the fore, but there is increasing concerns due to increasing struggle between humans and wildlife in this region. A day before the incident, a 54 -year -old man was crushed and killed by an elephant in Newri County, about 130 km north of Nairobi.
Kahumbu also emphasized the need for better security infrastructure in and around residential areas near wildlife houses. He said that things like lights, alarms, safe fences and sprays should be available. Prevention is our most line of defense.
