Actor Vijay Raaz acquitted in the case of sexual assault in 2020

Thursday, a court of the Maharashtra paid that the actor of Bollywood, Vijay Raj, in a case of sexual harassment filed by a colleague in 2020 and declared that the accusation had not presented sufficient evidence against him.
The additional judicial magistrate in chief (Gondia) Mahendra Sorate deleted the allegations against the actor under article 354-A (sexual harassment) and 354-d (chasing) of the Indian penal code.
A colleague had alleged that the actor had sexually assaulted him during the shooting of the film Sheri about five years ago. According to a complaint filed with the Ramnagar police station in Gondia, alleged crime was committed late on October 25, 2020.
On November 4, 2020, Raj was arrested in Balaghat in Madhya Pradesh. The same day, he was released on bail. The order said that the complainant said the incident had taken place in a hotel, but that the investigating officer was not there.
The judge said that the complainant had mentioned the names of two to three people working at the hotel, but that their statements had not been recorded. The court said that the investigator did not investigate any more in -depth investigation. Consequently, the evidence presented by the accusation seem weak and insufficient.
Even in the video surveillance images seized, the accused is not clearly visible by making alleged acts. The court said that the accusation had not proven decisively the crime of the accused, so the accused benefits from the doubt.
