Adi Group’s copper unit included in International Copper Association

Adi has joined the International Copper Association (ICA) with Adi Group company Kutch Copper Limited Washington DC headquarters. Adi Group gave this information on Thursday. The ICA is a non-profit trade association, which represents the production of half copper in the world, with 33 members in six continents.
Kutch Copper located in Mundra, Gujarat is the subsidiary company of Adani Group’s flagship company Adani Enterprises. Adani Enterprises is investing about $ 1.2 billion to set up a copper smelter with an initial capacity of 0.5 million tonnes per year (MTPA) in the first phase.
The state -of -the -art facility of Kutch copper will also create copper cathode, rod and other products, which will contribute significantly to India’s goal of becoming self -sufficient in copper production.
On joining the ICA, Dr. Vinay Prakash, the managing director of Kutch Copper, said, “India is leading to becoming an important center for copper and its products in the coming decades. We believe that Kutch copper in ICA Membership will allow us to actively contribute to stability initiatives and develop new applications and products in the area of copper. , Which plays an important role in Net Zero Transmission. “

Adani Group has started operating the first unit of its greenfield copper refinery of Kutch Copper Limited in the last financial year. The goal of Adani Group is to make it the world’s largest copper smelter at a location by the end of this decade. It will have an MMTPA capacity. This will help India to become self -sufficient in its metal needs.
