Amazon announced that Prime Video will start to display limited advertisements during films and television programs on June 17, 2025 in India. Although it gives users an option, it also provides the main video to competitors such as Disney + Hotstar, which already has a level pricing model based on advertising support. For example, Disney + Hotstar has a premium plan (advertising) at the price of RS 299 / month, Rs 499/3 months or Rs 1,499 / year, while the advertising plan by Jiocinema begins from Rs 149/3 months or Rs 499 / year. However, the premium level of Hostar also continues to show advertisements during live content such as sports.
