America’s diplomats will not be able to love Chinese citizens or you will be able to be physical- know why the ban
The US government has clearly told its government personnel, their family members and security clearance contractors that they can neither go to a romantic relationship with Chinese citizens nor make physical relations. By implementing a strict policy, any such relationship has been banned. This report has been published by the Associated Press. This policy was implemented in January by former US Ambassador Nicolas Burns. There was no such ban before this. According to the earlier Gydalancy, only the embassy was banned with Chinese citizens working in special roles like guards.
Actually, such a strict policy was not revealed since the Cold War. Because of this, it is not uncommon for American diplomats working in other countries to date or marry local people. Till before the new ban in January, American personnel working in China were expected to inform their senior that they are in a relationship with some Chinese citizens. He had to inform his senior, but was not clearly forbidden from the Chinese citizens to create physical relations or a romantic relationship.
Why was the new rule brought?
The new policy has been brought in view of possible security risks. China allegedly makes uses “Honeyipots” to extract sensitive information from American diplomats. According to the former CIA analyst, Peter Mattis, the Chinese agents are known to seduce American diplomats. Even normal Chinese citizens who date American diplomats can also be victims of Chinese agents.
The policy is applied to American personnel deployed in Men Land China, including the embassy in Beijing and Consulates in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shaneyang and Wuhan, as well as American consulates in Hong Kong. However, this does not apply to American personnel deployed outside China. People with already existing relationships with Chinese citizens can apply for exemption, but if denied, they will have to end the relationship or leave their post. If the policy is violated, the personnel concerned will be ordered to leave China immediately.
