Reacting to that, Tagore told Hindustan Times: “I did not tell him, but the ECB sent a letter to Saif who said he was withdrawing the trophy. If BCCI wants to remember Tiger’s inheritance or wants to ignore it, it is to decide them.” The official declaration is expected by the BCCI regarding the retirement of the Pataudi Trophy.

Sharmila Tagore and Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi got married on December 27, 1968. The former cricket player died in 2011. Both have three children: Saif Ali Khan, Saba Ali Khan Pataudi and Soha Ali Khan.
