‘Blessing’ on Ashadh month, medicines do more work! Ayurvedacharya told .. what to eat this month, what not

Korba. Ritucharya has special significance in Indian tradition. According to the seasons, we have inherited the tradition of dietary. Ashadh month has started from 12 June 2025, which will be till 10 July 2025. During this time we need to pay special attention to our food and routine.

According to Dr. Nagendra Narayan Sharma, a noted Ayurveda doctor of Chhattisgarh, Nadi Vaidya, there is a brilliance of Ashadh month seasons. This is the time of weather change, when the heat is ending and the rain starts. During this time, there is more chances of water related diseases. Therefore, water should be boiled and drunk these days.

Diet:-

Receable fruits should be consumed in Ashadh month. Consuming Am and berries is beneficial, but should avoid vine, as it can cause stomach and intestines infections. In this month, spicy and fried roasted things should also be avoided. Avoid eating more food.

What should we eat:-

Fruit: Mango, Watermelon, Berries

Cereals: barley, tide, maize corn

Pulses: moong, gram, tur, moth, lentils

Vegetables: Bitter gourd, gourd, cucumber, pumpkin, green coriander, luffa, gymnast

Spices: cumin, dry coriander, black pepper, turmeric, fenugreek, sweet neem, cinnamon

What not to eat:-

Cereals: millet, old wheat

Pulses: Urad, Kulathi

Vegetables: Torai, Brinjal, Carrot, Radish, Caul’s Cabbage, Cabbage

Fruit: Bell, Papaya

Food with more oil chili spices and stale food should also be avoided.

According to Skanda Purana, one should keep a fasting fast in Ashada month. That is, one should eat at a time. Doing this is beneficial for health. It is beneficial to use fennel and asafoetida in food. In this month, green leafy vegetables, lentils, cabbage, garlic, onion, brinjal should not be consumed.

Due to the arrival of rainy season in Ashadh month, the risk of infection of diseases increases, so it should be careful.
