It is different from the normal abo blood group, as it lacks H antigen. People of this blood group can take only similar blood. The blood of the rest of the blood group cannot be offered in their body. This blood group was first found in a family in Bombay in 1952, due to which it was named Bombay Blood Group.
According to the doctor, this blood group in India is found in any 1 person out of 10 thousand people. Especially in Maharashtra and some other states, the number of cases of Bombay Blood Group is slightly higher. However, this blood group is very rare in other countries. Apart from India, one out of 1 million people in other countries belongs to the Bombay Blood Group. For people of Bombay Blood Group, both blood donates and taking blood are extremely difficult. When a person of a Bombay Blood Group needs blood, he can be given blood of a Bombay blood group person.
According to health experts, if you talk about the blood of Abo blood group, it contains H antigen, which determines the identity of the blood group by connecting with A and B antigen. If you understand with an example, if a person has an antigen in the blood, then it is called A blood group. When B is antigens, it is considered a B blood group. The AB group consists of both antigens, while the O group has neither A nor B antigen. There is a deficiency of H antigen in Bombay Blood Group.
