The question is, are there more patients like Pihu, who keep so much positivity inside themselves? Senior cancer doctor Dr. Punia says that there are very few patients like Pihu who maintains a smile. This spirit helps them to get better treatment and becomes an inspiration for other patients.
Giving an example, he said that if a person is middle-aged or close to retirement and family responsibilities like a daughter’s marriage to be fulfilled, then for such a patient, two-and-a-half years of additional life also matters a lot. Dr. Punia said that in the real sense, there should be discussion on how much time the patient has in normal life and how will the treatment affect him.
He further said that positive thinking is very important for cancer patients. If there is no positivity in the mind, then negativity dominates the treatment. It is very important for the patient to stay motive because it is not important to start treatment, it is the most important to complete the treatment.
