China is amazing, the technology there is amazing. On Saturday, April 19, 21 Humanoid robots also joined thousands of humans in Yizuang Half-Marathon in Beijing. This was the first time in the world when these machines ran with humans in the 21 km race.

The Robot Toping Robot in the marathon was Tiangong Ultra made of the Beijing Innovation Center of Human Robotics, which took 2 hours and 40 minutes to finish the race. At the same time, the male winner who won the race took less than half of his time, only 1 hour 2 minutes.

When the race began with a gun sound on the starting line, the Chinese pop song “I Believe” was playing on the loudspeaker. The robots were standing in the queue one by one and started running with the sound of his bullet.

About 20 teams from all over China were participating in the competition. It included robots with 75 to 180 cm (2.46 to 5.9 ft) long and 88 kg (194 pounds) weighing. Some were running by themselves, while others were being operated from far away by engineers. Keep in mind that machines and humans were running on different tracks.

“Getting on the race track may take a small step for humans, but this is a big jump for humanoid robots,” co-director of Beijing E-Town Management Committee, Liang Leiang told AFP before the race.

Engineers told the AFP that this marathon target was to test the performance and reliability of the Robet. He emphasized that not to win the race, but to fulfill it was the main objective.
