This mission is going to be special because China is constantly taking steps towards its goal of sending astronauts on the moon and this is also a part of it. The name of this mission is Shenzhou-20 Mission. This will leave from the Juquan Satellite Launch Center in North-Western China. Under this mission, three astronauts will be taken to China’s own Tiangong Space Station for nearly six months of stay.

What will astronauts do on the mission?

China’s goal is to put astronauts on the moon by 2030. And even beyond that, the ultimate goal is that China makes a base on the moon. To carry forward the ambitious target of these space programs, the team will experiment at the space station for 6 months.

The Xinhua State News Agency has published pictures in which a white rocket is seen on the blue pedestal on which the flag of China is installed. “Currently, launch site facilities and equipment are in good position,” said China’s Mand Space Agency (which is associated with taking astronauts into space). Chinese officials have not yet given any details about the identification or work done by the Snezhou-20 mission astronauts. According to China’s official news agency, Jhou Wenxing, a staff member of the Astronaut Training Center, said that the crew was “in good condition, accurate and correct coordination”.

The crew mission sent by China earlier was named Shanejhou-19. It was launched last October and will end on the last date scheduled on 29 April. The mission was led by 48 -year -old Air Force Pilot Cai Juje, who served in 2022 as part of the Shanejhou -14 mission at Tiangong Space Station in the last term.

According to reports at the launch time, the Shanejhou-19 team is testing to see how excessive radiation, gravity, temperature and other conditions affect the “bricks” similar to the moon’s soil.

It is worth noting that under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, China has moved forward with a plan to achieve its “space dreams”. China was the third country to send humans to the moon’s class Yana Orbit and it has also launched a robotic rover on Mars and Moon. Tiangong Space Station is like a crown for China. This space station is operated by teams of three astronauts which change every six months.

Beijing says that it is on the path of sending a manned mission on the moon by 2030. In recent decades, China has spent billions of dollars in developing an advanced space program equal to the US and Europe. In 2019, it launched its Chang’e-4 probe on the remote part of the moon. This was the first spacecraft to do so. In 2021, it launched a small robot on Mars.

Tiangong Space Station was launched in 2021 and plans to use it for about 10 years.
