Coldplay’s Chris Martin talks about British colonial India, thanks for letting me know

British band Coldplay is currently in India for their Music of Spheres World Tour. During the performance, the band’s frontman Chris Martin expressed his gratitude to the Indian people for forgiving British colonialism.

In a video shared by multiple people, Chris can be heard saying: “Thank you for forgiving Britain for all the bad things it has done.” He also said that this is our 4th time visiting India and our 2nd chance to perform. It was my first long show and I couldn’t have asked for more audience participation. Thank you everyone for coming today! ”
The singer said: “It’s amazing how you welcome us even though we’re from the UK. Thank you for forgiving us for all the bad things Britain has done.”

Fans flooded Instagram with comments praising Chris for “fixing what wasn’t broken.” Another fan wrote, “Chris is healing generational trauma on the mic, on stage, and in some songs.”
Coldplay have three more shows scheduled in India – in Mumbai on January 21st and in Ahmedabad on January 25th and 26th.
