Speaking at the House of Commons, he said, “After a fierce terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India started Operation Sindoor in which accurate air strikes were carried out on 9 terrorist bases. Since peace talks are going on, I asked what steps are being taken to remove terrorist bases from Pakistan -occupied Kashmir.” Blackman has shared a video of his speech on social media platform X.

Responding to his question, Britain’s Foreign Secretary (Foreign Minister) David Lami described the Pahalgam terror attack as “terrible” and assured that the British government is working with both India and Pakistan to fight terrorism. Lammy said, “Well, let me make it clear that the horrific terrorism we saw, in which 26 citizens were stripped and shot, was terrible. And we condemn it, and we will continue to work with close colleagues to deal with these terrorist threats.” He said that both countries need support to ensure permanent peace, which eventually, “will maintain permanent peace.”
Blackman had earlier condemned the terrorist attack in Pahalgam and called upon his government to fully support India in the steps to end terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir. In his speech in the UK Parliament on 29 April, he stated that the attack in Kashmir was “well organized and coordinated” and by choosing “either Hindu or Christian” men were targeted.
