Demand of cheap 5G smartphones increased by 100% in India, Apple on top in premium segment

The 5G smartphone segment stake in the January-March quarter in the Indian market was 86 percent and it has increased by 14 percent on an annual basis. This information was given in a new report. According to the report of Cypermedia Research (CMR), the 5G smartphone segment priced from Rs 8,000 to Rs 13,000 has increased by 100 percent, which shows that the demand for affordable 5G phones in the country is increasing.
5G smartphone on top in market
Vivo is at the top with a 21 percent stake in the 5G smartphone market. After this, Samsung is in second place with 19 percent. The premium segment is also increasing rapidly due to the increasing demand of 5G and AI-Reddy smartphones.
He further said that brands like Xiaomi, Poco, Motorola and Reality are leading this fast.
3% increase in affordable smartphone segment by 3% annually
The report said that the affordable smartphone segment has increased by 3 percent on an annual basis, while the Value-for-Mani segment has declined by 6 percent. This shows that people are shifting towards the premium smartphone.
Apple recorded a 25% increase on an annual basis
At the same time, Apple has registered a 25 percent increase on an annual basis and the company’s market share was 8 percent. The reason for this is to increase the demand for premium smartphones and increase access to the company’s retail segment in India.
CMR believes that single digit will continue to increase in India’s smartphone market. Prabhu Ram, vice-president of Cybermedia Research (CMR), said, “The coming quarters will shape India’s smartphone market, including the affordable 5G segment to be in the mainstream mainstream, rapid inclusion of on-device AI and localization.”
