‘Dhoni gave me a better gift’, big disclosure of Ashwin, wanted to retire only after 100th Test.

The match was against England in Dharamshala. Even he had asked former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to be present in Dharamshala, but this could not happen. On the occasion of Ashwin’s 100th Test, the BCCI organized a special ceremony. In this, Ashwin was also given Memento. But Ashwin wanted to take this symbol from Dhoni’s hands, who could not reach there unfortunately.

Ashwin revealed in Chennai that although he did not get Mento at the hands of Dhoni in his 100th Test, he got a better reward when the former captain contracted him with Super Kings for the 2025 IPL.
In a book launch program, Ashwin said, ‘I called Dhoni on the occasion of his 100th Test and asked me to give memento. I wanted to retire after this test, but Mahi could not reach there. However, I did not think that he would give me a better gift by associating with Chennai again. This is much better. So MS thank you for this. I am happy to join Chennai ‘Ashwin did his IPL career for Chennai in the year 2008. And after leaving Chennai in 2015, he has once again returned to his original team. During this period, Ashwin played for many teams including Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi in the last decade.
To this, Ashwin said, ‘The most important thing is that I have not returned as Chennai who has achieved so much. Instead, I have come as a player who has decided a full cycle. A player who wants to return and enjoy it as before.
