Washington:
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Wednesday that he briefly discussed the current situation in Bangladesh with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz. Jaishankar said in a conversation with Indian journalists here, “Yes, we had a brief discussion on Bangladesh. I don’t think it would be appropriate to give more information about it. ”
In fact, he was questioned whether during the meeting with Rubio and Waltz, there was a discussion on the issue of behavior with minorities in Bangladesh, on which he responded. Jaishankar said that there was no discussion about attacks on Indian consulates in America or danger to Indian diplomats here.
He said, “I did not raise those issues on this occasion.” Jaishankar said, “But I will definitely say that the attack on our consulate in San Francisco is a very serious matter. This is a case for which we expect accountability and want to be held responsible for those who have attacked this.
Asked about two cases in American courts in the last two years – a former Indian officer and another against an Indian businessman, Jaishankar said, “These cases did not raise (during the meeting).” ‘
