Exclusive: Prateik Smita Patil and Priya Banerjee’s wedding took place in the groom’s late mother’s home

For actors Prateik Smita Patil and Priya Banerjee, everything, from their meeting of the wedding ceremony to his late mother, the home of the award -winning national actor Smita Patil looked like “cosmic showers of heaven”, explains Patil. It turned out that the couple had been in the peripheral vision of the other for years – they lived in a few houses of houses, had common friends and even turned to the parties, but they had never met .

“We met when it was supposed to be,” shares Patil, who admits to sliding in his DMS during a random evening in the middle of locking. “After a few days, I asked Priya if she wanted to go for a trip.” What they judged would be a superficial meeting transformed into a four-hour meeting. “I was instantly struck by its simplicity and its honesty,” explains Banerjee.

The initial catch -up which has turned into a lasting link prompted Patil to kneel after three years in the relationship. With the knowledge of Banerjee, he understood everything, with a personalized solitary ring to signify their past, their present and their future. “A few days before, I had asked Priya’s parents’ hand to their daughter in marriage. Originally, I planned to offer him on November 28, with an exclusive dinner in our favorite restaurant. But as with all the good epiphanies that appear to me in the bathroom, I decided to ask the question two days before at home where we shared our most beautiful memories, ”he said, laughing.

“I woke up because I heard him choke. He was on his knees and delivered a whole speech. I was half asleep and I had to miss the first two sentences to realize that it was a proposal, ”recalls Banerjee.

The duo considered their anniversary of engagement for the big day. “I didn’t want to wait so long to call Priya my wife. His parents were visiting Canada in January 2025, so we decided to get married on February 14. While the date was in place, the place was not easy. “We have pivoted between different places, but nothing touched a sensitive string. One night, I dreamed of Prateik’s mom, and I knew it was our sign to get married at home because he always held a magic swing on him, ”recalls Banerjee. “This is the first house that my mother bought and my house, so it was the best way to honor it and share it with the happiest day of our lives [in spirit]”Added Patil.
