First 26% tariff imposed, now trump is seen in the mood to negotiate from India: Report

While announcing the tariff, Trump had said that the tariff imposed by New Delhi was “very strict”. He further said that his Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) came recently (America) … He is a very good friend of mine, but I told him that ‘you are my friend, but you are not treating us properly’. India takes 52 percent charge from us, so we will take half -26 percent tariffs from them.
On the other hand, the Government of India has said that it is “carefully examining” the effects of tariffs announced by Trump on 2 April. And the Ministry of Commerce is assessing the situation with all stakeholders. Feedback is being taken from exporters and the department is also studying opportunities arising due to tariff changes.
Experts also expressed hope
In the past, when the US had announced a 26 percent tariff on India, many foreign affairs in a special conversation with NDTV emphasized that in the coming days, America can consider the reduction in tariffs on India. During that time, the experts had said that during the bilateral talks between India and the US, there can be a big deal to give or reduce the tariff.
