‘Four percent extra number wants to make wicketkeeper’, RCB player revealed

New Delhi:

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper batsman Jitesh Sharma was dreaming of joining the army and perhaps he would have succeeded if he would not have tried to achieve an additional four percent in 10th standard. In Maharashtra, additional marks are given to students who excelled in sports and Jitesh decided to give a trial with his friends, from where his life changed completely. Jitesh said, ‘I was in 10th grade that year. I wanted to go to NDA. I was interested in Air Force and Defense. In Maharashtra, if you represent in 10th or 12th grade, you get 25 marks. That means 4 percent additional.

Jitesh, who batted Atishi, said, ‘One day, my friend said that let’s do cricket trials. We will get 4 percent extra. I said okay. We went there and they were writing names on the register – who is the batsman, who is a bowler. The lowest name name was of ‘wicketkeeper’. In an episode of ‘Bold Diaries’, Jitesh revealed,’ We were three friends, all three of us wrote ‘wicketkeeper’. In this way it started.

Let us know that Jitesh made his international debut at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou and has played nine T20 matches for India so far, in which he has scored 100 runs with the best score of 35. The 31 -year -old also spoke about Amravati’s feeling of being the first player to represent the country.

He said, ‘This is a good feeling. You cannot express it. I think I can tell Juniors that whatever pain you are going through, it is worth it. You can struggle. It is appropriate to struggle to wear that jersey. Jitesh said, ‘I feel the responsibility because I think I am the first boy to play from Amravati for India. So when I go, I assure people that if I can do this, then someone else can do it.

Jitesh made his debut for Punjab Kings in the year 2022, he was bought for his base price of Rs 20 lakh and developed his role as a finisher and scored 730 runs in the next three seasons. Now RCB has achieved their services for Rs 12 crore during the mega auction. Jitesh spoke in detail about his role and the difficulties that come with it.

He said, ‘Now everyone seems to be a finisher, but it is a difficult task to bat on number 6, number 7 because since I started finishing, I have not scored a single half -century. I was an opener. Earlier I used to score a half -century and century. Therefore, when I crossed a milestone, I used to enjoy lifting my bat. Ever since I became a finisher, I never got a chance to score 50 runs. 10 balls, 30 runs. 20 balls, 40 runs. These scores have become 50 for us. If you score 60-70 runs in 30 balls, then it is 100. And if the team wins, I am happy, very happy.
