Met Gala is scheduled to take place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on May 5th. The Indian audience programme will begin on Tuesday, May 6th at 3am. Known as the biggest night of fashion, the program includes bold fashion, big names and a strong message. The focus of this year’s theme is black dandyism. This is a fashion movement in which black people use elegant dressings to express their identity, pride and resistance. Monica L. Miller’s book for the exhibition is inspired by Fashion for Slave and will be open to the public at the museum from May 10th to October 26th. When and where to see this epic program

Met Gala will begin in the US on ET on May 5th at 6pm, while red carpet coverage will begin at 4:30pm on ET. For Indian audiences, coverage will begin on Tuesday, May 6th at 3:30am. Official companion Gala Live Stream offers special real-time coverage of all red carpet action.

This year’s theme is “Superfine: Tailing Black Style.” This book by Monica L. Miller is inspired by Slaves to Fashion (2009). According to Mate, the dress code – “Tales for You” – is a homage to the focus on men’s stays at the exhibition, and is purposefully designed to “provide guidance and invite creative interpretations.”
