How farm stays in India are turning bed-rotting travellers into hard-working farmhands

Although everyone does not opt for intense work, the owner of Yangsum, Thenup Tashi Bhutia, says that guests are often curious. The property of the room at the seven -year -old mountain farm of 40 acres of Bhutia has been renovated from its 200 -year family farm, and offers practical activities like plowing the fields with an egg or machine tillon, nourishing cows and goats, cooking traditional sikkime dishes as a soup with the range of titles and fuels for medical herbs. “People are attracted to us because they want to escape their stress, be close to nature and live a slow rural lifestyle. Do not go to another city with traffic and noise. ”

“From pollution to processed foods, there is increased anxiety about the poor quality of life in cities,” adds Joshi. This fear of artificial expanses to technology and AI reducing our memory, patience and problem solving skills. “People are looking for these experiences because they want something more real. They want to get out of this convenience and predictability trap, ”explains Sukumar.
