Suryakumar Yadav, Captain Statement After Victory Against England: The five-match T20 International series to be played between India and England has started. The first match of the prestigious series was played today (22 January 2025) at the Eden Garden Stadium in Kolkata. Where the Indian stalwarts played brilliantly and won by a huge margin of seven wickets. After the match, captain Suryakumar Yadav looked very happy with the excellent performance of his players. After the match he said, ‘The rhythm we achieved after winning the toss. He set the benchmark. The bowlers had their own plans. He followed it very well. The way we batted during the game. That was icing on the cake. We did the same in South Africa. Hardik (Hardik Pandya) had the responsibility of bowling with the new ball. So that an additional spinner can get space to play. Varun (Varun Chakraborty)’s preparation for the match is very good and Arshdeep (Arshdeep Singh) is taking additional responsibility upon himself. We have been given a lot of freedom to play. We want to play a little differently during the match. Fielding is an area where we are working really hard.
The bowlers did wonders and then the batsmen created a stir.
Talking about the match, after winning the toss in Kolkata, Captain Suryakumar Yadav had decided to bowl first. His decision was also justified by the bowlers. Arshdeep Singh bowled wreaking havoc in the initial overs and gave two big blows to the opposition team. Due to which the opposition team could not make a special start.
In the middle order, Jos Buttler definitely tried to improve the innings. But in the middle order, Varun Chakraborty, Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel gave continuous shocks to the opposition team. From which she could not recover till the end. The situation was such that despite Butler’s excellent 68 runs, the English team could only reach 132/10 runs in 20 overs.
The Indian team easily achieved the target of 133 runs set by the opposition team at the loss of three wickets in 12.5 overs. During the match, opener Abhishek Verma’s bat played very well. He played an explosive inning of 79 runs in 34 balls. During this, five fours and eight beautiful sixes came from his bat.

Varun Chakraborty has been given the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his excellent bowling in the first T20 match against England. During the match, he bowled a total of four overs for his team. Meanwhile, he managed to take three wickets while spending 23 runs.
