“If attacked …”: Iran warns US-Israel after the Huti missile attacks

The main airport in Israeli has been attacked by Huti rebels with missiles. After this, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu has promised that after the attack, his country will retaliate against Yemen’s Huti and “his Iranian terrorists”. On this, Iran has vowed on Sunday that if retaliation was taken against Huti rebels, the US and Israel’s bases and forces would be “retaliated”. According to Iran’s Defense Minister Aziz Naseerzadeh, even though there is “no enmity” towards his country’s neighboring countries, he will target American bases in the region in case of retaliation.

Defense Minister Aziz Naseerzadeh said, “If this war has been launched by the US or the Jayoni regime (Israeli), Iran will target their interests, bases and forces – wherever they are and whenever it is considered necessary.” After Aziz Naseerzadeh’s comments, Iran tested a new solid-fuel ballistic missile called ‘Qasim Basser’. Its firepower is 1,200 kilometers.

Significantly, Huti rebels control a large part of Yemen. The Huti attackers began targeting Israel and the Red Sea shipping in late 2023, during the early days of the war between Hamas and Israel in the Gaza Patti.

On Sunday, the Huti Group fired a ballistic missile which fell outside Tel Aviv, just 75 meters from Terminal 3 to 75 meters of Ben Gurian Airport. It was allegedly denied four layers of Israeli Air Defense and collided with a forest adjacent to an access road within the airport boundary- which is one of the most sensitive areas.

According to Israeli officials, at least eight people were injured in the attack. Israel failed to stop these missiles, even though the US -made Thaad system and indigenous arrow system. Last week, the Huti Group stated that it killed an American F -18 fighter jet during the first attack on aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman, and carried out fresh drone attacks targeting another American carriers and Israeli cities.

Immediately after the missile attack at Ben Gurian Airport, Israel announced “seven times more retaliatory action”. Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katj said in a statement, “Whoever will harm us, we will attack him seven times.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also promised several attacks against Huti rebels. He said in a video, “Israel’s retaliation for the Huti attack will not be ‘once’, and there will be attacks in response to the attack. We are taking action against them. We have taken action in the past, and we will take action in future. I cannot tell everything in detail. America is also taking action against them in cordation.”
