Ravi Bishnoi told the condition of the last over
Bishnoi hit two fours on the last end and made the chase easier, Bishnoi said that he wanted to give as many strikes to Tilak Verma (Ravi Bishnoi on Tilak Varma Batting) as he was well set. We told each other let’s try, we will achieve it. He was set and I didn’t want to play the shots in a hurry because we had less wickets,” Bishnoi said in the post-match presentation.
Bishnoi said he was determined to make an impact in the match and show that bowlers can also contribute with the bat at crucial junctures. “Just today I posted a reel on Instagram about why it’s the batsmen who should have all the fun. When he came to slip, I knew he (Liam Livingstone) was going to get me out with leg-spin. Will try. But I hit him for a four with spin,” Bishnoi said, adding that it was one of Verma’s “best T20 innings”.
India bowled brilliantly to restrict England to 165 for 9, with Axar Patel taking the important wickets of captain Jos Buttler and Liam Livingstone. Buttler, who was looking dangerous after the dismissal of England openers Phil Salt (4) and Ben Duckett (3), was dismissed by Axar Patel for 45 (30 balls). Varun Chakraborty took 2 wickets for 38 runs, Washington Sundar (1/9) and Abhishek Sharma (1/12) also bowled brilliantly. England’s last order batsman Brayden Carse increased the team’s score by playing a quick inning of 31 runs in 17 balls and set a target of 165 runs for India to win.
