Indian designer Ashiesh Shah’s debut at Paris Design Week has given us new decor goals

Presented by The Invisible Collection, an online platform with conservatives by the best interior designers in the world (on which Shah also became the first Indian designer to make his debut in 2022), the latest collection of Shah, Gentle powercaptured the imagination of an international audience. His work, notably the Otla sofa, the Naga bench and the Dhoop table, took the scene, not only as a celebration of Indian crafts but as a thoughtful exploration of cultural heritage in a contemporary context. “Wearing our work at the Paris design week was more than a simple exhibition, it was a statement,” said Shah, who spoke to me about Paris. “It was an opportunity to place Indian crafts on one of the most prestigious world stages.
